Bláskjár er hliðarsjálf og sólóverkefni tónlistarkonunnar Dísu Hreiðarsdóttur. Tónlist Bláskjás má lýsa sem ljóðrænni alþýðutónlist með áherslu á einlæga og innihaldsríka texta.

Verkefnið Bláskjár var formlega sett af stað í febrúar 2014, sem hluti af útskriftarverkefni tónlistarkonunnar Arndísar Hreiðarsdóttur, en hún útskrifaðist með masters gráðu í tónlist frá Listaháskóla Íslands í júní á síðasta ári. Bláskjár er söngvaskáld, sem leggur áherslu á að miðla einlægri og ljóðrænni tónlist, þar sem áhersla er lögð á að segja sögur og túlka tilfinningar. Margskonar áhrifa gætir í tónlist Bláskjás, og má þar nefna klassísk áhrif í píanóleik ásamt leikhúslegum áherslum sem koma fram bæði í tónlistinni sem og flutningi tónlistarkonunnar. Hverjir tónleikar eru hugsaðir sem nokkurs konar tónleikhús, þar sem tónsmíðarnar mynda ákveðinn söguþráð. Íslensk náttúra er tónlistarkonunni hugleikin og myndar hljóðheim í nokkrum laga Bláskjás. Tónlistarkonan er einnig undir elektrónískum áhrifum, sem munu koma fram á næstu smáskífum Bláskjás, þannig að úr verður einhverskonar akústísk/elektrónísk alþýðutónlist. Bláskjár vinnur nú að stuttskífu, sem mun koma út í haust.


Bláskjár is the alter ego and solo project of Icelandic composer and musician, Dísa Hreiðarsdóttir. Bláskjár´s music is best described as lyrical folk music where storytelling plays a big role.

The solo project was launched in May 2014 as a part of Dísa´s final project for her masters studies in the Iceland Academy of the Arts. Bláskjár is a singer/songwriter, and focuses on playing humble and lyrical music, straight from the heart. Bláskjár´s music has many elements, such as classical and theatrical influences, so the music is both theatrical and picturesque. Bláskjár loves the nature and uses soundscapes to enrich her songs. Bláskjár´s next singles will be under electronic influences, so the music will be a mixture of acustic folk music and electronica.
Bláskjár recently joined forces with a group of talented musicians and together they form Bláskjár and band. Bláskjár released her first single in January 2015 and plans to release an EP this fall.
